Флувоксамин может замедлять CYP-опосредованный метаболизм теофиллина и его дериватов. В исследованиях было показано, что концентрации теофиллина и кофеина значительно и быстро увеличивались при одновременном применении с флувоксамином, что в дальнейшем приводило к развитию теофиллиновой и кофеиновой токсичности. В изолированном исследовании у 11-летнего мальчика отмечалось развитие теофиллиновой токсичности при одновременном применении с флувоксамином. Следует контролировать токсичность теофиллина в начале комбинированной терапии с флувоксамином и после ее окончания и при необходимости корректировать дозы.
