Циклоспорин может повышать содержания в сыворотке крови и усиливать токсичность ингибиторов ГМГ-КоА-редуктазы, возможно путем ингибирования их органического аниона полипептидного транспорта и печеночного метаболизма. Взаимодействие было отмечено со всеми статинами, но в меньшей степени - с флувастатином. Было показано в некоторых исследованиях, что аторвастатин и симвастатин незначительно влияли на уровень циклоспорина. Комбинированное применение симвастатина, ловастатина и питавастатина с циклоспорином противопоказано. Если комбинация неизбежна, следует начинать применять статины в низкой дозе и внимательно следить у пациента за признаками токсичности (например, миопатия и рабдомиолиз).
